Treatment: focus on using a gentle, sulfate-free dandruff shampoo specifically designed for curly hair, applying it directly to the scalp, and following up with a hydrating conditioner to combat dryness caused by the anti-dandruff ingredients



Seborrheic Dermatitis

What is it:

Overgrowth of yeast and sebum Greasy, yellow flakes; usually sticky or moist Triggered by stress Inflammatory Can range from mild to intense.

Treatment: focus on using a medicated dandruff shampoo containing ingredients like pyrithione zinc, selenium sulfide, or ketoconazole, ideally once a week to avoid excessive dryness, and pair it with a gentle, moisturizing shampoo and conditioner designed for curly hair.



Dry Scalp

What is it:

Due to lack of moisture. Itchy with small dry flakes.

Treatment: Use a shampoo and conditioner with moisturizing ingredients to help hydrate and soothe. Adding a Leave-In Conditioner can help your scalp and your curls.



Contact Dermatitis

What is it:

Inflammatory Redness Itchiness is highly sensitive to products, chemicals, and direct contact. Another scalp disorder usually accompanies it.

Treatment: Use a gentle, fragrance-free cleansing products, apply a mild, moisturizing scalp treatment, and consult a dermatologist for stronger medications if necessary,
