Diffusing vs Air Dry

Updated: Feb 19

With the great debate about diffusing or air drying, get ready to wear your boxing gloves. Let's get into diffusing vs air drying.

Pro- Diffusing- your dry time can be between 10- minutes. The heat and air can set the gel cast immediately. Diffusing can give your curls more definition, volume, and longevity.

Con- Diffusing- It can add time to your routine; if you are hard-pressed to get ready, adding 10- 30 minutes can be too much. You do have the possibility of making your curls frizzy if you don't diffuse correctly.

Pro- Air Drying- If you have tighter curls, air drying can help lengthen them. If you are in a time crunch, air drying can help with time management. If you air dry, you won't have any heat damage.

Con- Air Drying- If the hair is kept wet for too long, you can cause damage from the hair staying wet for too long. If you have thick, dense curls, it can take up to 10 hours to dry. The gel cast takes much longer to form. This can cause less definition, no volume, and can cause more frizz from the curls moving too much when wet.
